What is a Rider Orange Card?

The Orange Card is a prepaid card that deliveries Riders use to pay for items on Ride Shop & Deliver orders. Don’t worry, the card is funded by Ride! Orange Cards are not linked to Riders bank accounts or related to earnings Orange Cards can be:

  • Digital - stored in the digital wallet in your phone (recommended)
  • Physical - physical card ordered from the Ride store

Why do I need an Orange Card?

Ride Shop & Deliver orders can only be completed with an Orange Card. Always make sure to bring an Orange with you so that you can accept these orders and take advantage of every earning opportunity. If you have a digital Orange Card, you do not also need a Physical Orange Card to perform shopping orders.

How do I get a digital Orange Card?

It’s simple - it just takes a minute from your Rider app

    For IOS:
  1. Go to the ‘Account’ tab of your Rider app
  2. Tap “Rider Orange Card”
  3. Tap “Add to Apple Wallet” to get your card
  4. If prompted to choose a device, select your phone name
  5. Card information will automatically populate
  6. Accept the Terms & Condition
  7. Once successfully added, your ‘Dasher Orange Card’ tab should show ‘Active in Apple Wallet’
    For Andriod:
  1. You will need to have the Google Pay app installed. Note that currently Orange Card only works on Google Pay and not Samsung Pay
    • ->Open the Google Play Store
    • ->Search Google Pay
    • ->Tap Install
  2. Add a Virtual Red Card to your Rider app
    • ->In the Dasher app, open the 3-dot Menu icon
    • ->Tap Orange Card
    • ->Tap Add to G Pay
  3. Add Virtual Red Card to Google Wallet
    • ->Add Payment Card
    • ->Wait for the card information to automatically fill i
    • ->If prompted for an address, input your address to proceed
    • ->Accept the Terms & Condition
    • ->Accept Issuer Terms
  4. Once successfully added, your ‘Orange Card’ tab should show ‘Active in Google Pay’

How do I get and activate a physical Orange Card?

We recommend getting a digital Card as it’s easy to download, available instantly, and it’s on your phone so you won't forget it when Riding. If your phone is not NFC enabled, or you would prefer a physical one, order one to ship to you for free from the Ride Store Once received, follow the following steps to complete setup:

  1. Follow the steps above to get to the ‘Orange Card’ page in your dasher app
  2. Tap “Activate a physical card” to activate.
  3. If you have any errors, be sure to update your Dasher app to the latest version then close your app and reopen
Once you activate your physical card, you can follow the Digital Orange Card steps above to add this same card to your phone wallet. This will allow you to check out with either your physical or digital card.

How do I use a digital Orange Card?

For iOS

    iPhones with Face ID
  1. Open your Wallet App (you can also open this by double-clicking the side Power button)
  2. Select and tap the Orange Card in your Wallet
  3. Authenticate with Face ID or enter your passcode
  4. Hold the top of your iPhone near the card reader until you see Done or a checkmark on the screen.
    iPhones with Touch ID
  1. Open your Wallet App
  2. Select and tap the Orange Card in your Wallet
  3. Rest your finger on Touch ID.
  4. Hold the top of your iPhone near the card reader until you see Done or a checkmark on the screen.
Note: If you are on an order and are unable to check out with your digital Red Card, go ahead and pay with your own card and submit a request to DoorDash Support for reimbursement. Please keep the receipt.
For Andriod
    Check your tap to pay set up
  1. Open the Google Wallet app
  2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or Account Tap to pay setup.
  3. Check if you’re ready to make contactless payments. To tap to pay with Google Wallet:
    • Near field communication (NFC) must be turned on.
    • To make a tap-to-pay transaction with a card in your Google Wallet, Google Pay should be set as your default payment app.
    • Add a contactless payment method.
    • Set up a screen lock.
    • Your phone must meet the security requirements.
    Pay in a store
  1. Wake up & unlock your phone
    • Turn on your screen, then unlock your phone. You don’t need to open the Google Wallet app.
    • Important: For users with a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, Face Unlock is currently not supported for tap to pay transactions.
  2. Hold the back of your phone to the payment reader
  3. When you’re done paying, a blue check mark appears on the screen.
  4. If the check mark isn’t on your screen:
    • Try to hold your phone in a different way. Your NFC antenna could be near the top or bottom of your device.
    • Hold your phone closer to the payment reader.
    • Hold your phone to the payment reader for a few extra seconds.

I am having trouble setting up my Orange Card. How can I get help?

Some common errors and troubleshooting steps are listed below:

If these do not work, please try these steps for troubleshooting the Ridel app. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact Ridel Support Centre Error How to resolve.

I’m not seeing the option to add to a digital wallet Please check that you have a digital wallet app installed on your phone (Wallet App or Google Pay), and make sure you have enabled it for pay. Also make sure that your Ridel app is updated to the latest version. Once you update, exit the app and restart. Something went wrong. Please try again.

  1. Make sure that your Ridel app is updated to the latest version.
  2. Exit the app and restart. Navigate out of the Orange Card management page and go back in
  3. Open your Apple Wallet or Google Pay to check that there is no Orange Card in there. If there is, remove it and try the steps in the app again.
  4. If you still get an error, Follow the steps to get a Physical Card in the meantime.
This card can’t be set up to tap to pay Please contact support for help with getting your digital card. Follow the steps to get a Physical Card in the meantime.   1. Ensure the region of your Apple ID account is your current location - See Apple Support Change your Apple ID country or region for instructions
  2. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings > general > language & region - set to your region)
  3. Sign out of your Apple ID and back in
  4. Ensure your device is compatible with Apple Pay
